In my kitchen, this is a pantry staple. It's a fragrant and aromatic chili garlic sauce (or chili garlic in oil).
It has a lot of flavor and may offer a dish a nice kick of spice and additional depth of flavor.
Ngag's Chili Garlic Sauce Contains:
- Chili oil with a Filipino twist (it's quite similar to chili garlic crisp or chili oil).
- Very adaptable
- In my kitchen/pantry, it lasts months on the shelf!
- Easy to customize–you can add a variety of spices and cook the chili and garlic for a shorter or longer time depending on how crisp you want them to be.
- Before heating up a skillet and adding the oil, I basically process the chilies and garlic.
I've used it in noodle dishes, dipping sauces, stir-fries, and a variety of other dishes. It keeps for several months at room temperature, and the flavor improves as it rests in the same oil. You may either utilize the aromatic oil or combine it with the chili garlic sediments at the bottom of the pan.
